How do I know if my ECU has gone bad. I keep getting the same code no matter how many times I replace the same part. I checked my wires and they look good and connect well. My check engine light has NOT come on. The reason I know the code is flashing is because I looked under the seat and noticed it. Ive been trying to solve the problem sence then. Ive disconnected the alternator fuse and removed the neg battery cable so many times I can do it in my sleep.

ECU at the dealer is just over $800.00 If I need a new one, Im just gonna have to go check the junk yards. I'd hate to do that. they may have the same problem. frustrated. tomorrow Im gonna change the part again.

Maybe your check engine light bulb is bad?
so anytime my red light is flashing, my check engine should be on???

I replaced the bulb with bulbs from the others areas. low fuel, abs, parking brake and they all still work with the same bulb removed from the check engine. its just my check engine light. It did come on the last time my distributor went bad, but not recently. but it Never comes on when starting the car.
