can the navigation unit from the 05 pilot be used in the 1999 tl. I saved my old unit from my pilot but have the old navigation with the hdd error,

Depending if it's the orange or white disc it may work but the touch screen, Climate controls won't! I know the 2000,2003 tl, 2000-04 Odyssey will direct swap and will upgrade you to DVD Navi! If all you want is a working Navi you can replace the HDD with a Compact flash with a PCMCIA adapter..
