Good evening i am just recently considering an Acura to replace the BMW E39 M5 I just sold. I was looking at a 2006 TL that was listed as Type S but after researching it seems that the Type S only came back in 2007 & 2008. I use to own a 2003 Type S and loved it but scared when it it 100k why I have no idea. This car I am looking at is Triple Black 6 speed with navigation. It has 134,000 miles but I like the look and the price seems good 10,995. The car has a Type S badge on the trunk lid it has the Acura brake lettered calipers. Was there a Type s in 2006 or was there a Sport model offered. I figured here is the best place to get the real answer. I called the dealer in Rochester but they said no 2007 and 2008 only with the 3.5 liter. This one is 3.2 liter.

What year was your E39? I used to own a 1999 528iT, loved it, babied it, got tired of the upkeep costs, back to driving rice. I was a regular on the Roadfly E38, E39, Bimmerforums and Bimmerfest boards.

Good luck with your purchase! I own both a '95 BMW and an Acura TL. Making the decison to give up either would be difficult!

For the OP I just recently traded my 08 128i for my 08 TL. Actually got it for a LOT less, with a SUBSTANTIALLY better warranty. Now, nothing can match that smooth straight 6 and compact RWD platform (remember, this body had more power and as much weight as the US Market E36 M3).
Anyway, loving this Acura, it's my second after an 01 CL.

I'll be a BMW owner again one day, but until that day comes I'll LOVE driving this TL til the wheels fall off!

All base are 3.2, the 2007-8 model comes with a modified 3.5 which is virtually the same motor as the RL; which is the best luxury vehicle acura currently has with sedans.
