I solved the problem when I bought my '15 TLX (first time I did all the purchase negotiations online after I had driven the car and met the salesman in person). In my offer, I confirmed our earlier discussions of options I wanted, and added that I also wanted the optional spare tire, and offered him a price, which he accepted, also via email. When I went to pick up the car, there was no spare in it, so I asked about it. Turned out he hadn't read my offer very closely and missed it. Oops. Got my spare at the as-negotiated price, and we were both happy.
