Anybody know anything about this car? Looked it up on Edmunds and there's not a whole lot of info yet. The commercial where the guy's "racing" his kid on the bike is getting to me :sqnteek:

All I know is that it is a Passat and it has a "W" shaped 8 cylinder... the "W" takes up less space and offers more power. Kind of where the WRX is going with it's horizont "boxer" engine. I think it's overpriced. It's close to 40k maybe even more with some options. I rather get the A4 or spend a little more and get the S4...

Yes, the Passat W8 is the $38,000 answer to the question that no one asked. All I know is it has 275hp and it'll barely crack 7 seconds to 60 because it's so damn heavy (it also has VW's 4Motion all wheel drive system). This is another example of why Ferdinand Piech is a moron. He's going to ruin VW and take Audi along with them.

It has the same advantages of a v-8 over a v-6, meaning more torque and more low end grunt, but with the new w reconfiguration it takes up less space and is supposed to be more efficient. That's how they fit a 8 cylinder into the same passat body without making it any longer or wider.
