Usually polish cleans and preps the paint for wax. As for zaino the polish is the wax.

Blue dawn the dishy soap is used to remove the old wax so zaino or any other wax can bond better.

If you zaino your car from another wax yes you have to use dawn. Polish serves a totally different purpose than dawn. Dawn is used to strip the wax, tar, bugs, etc. Polish simply cleans and removes swirls and light scratchs and the wax is used to add more depth and shine on top of that.

Call/Email Sal Zaino. He'll usually respond within an hour or so, if it's business hours. He'll let you know whatever you need to know. Seriously.....:beerchug:

Or....this is my Zaino distributor here in Seattle. PM me if you want his contact info. He's an ex paint specialist and can give you honest answers for just about anything regarding polishes and waxes.
