Hi all! Wife's 2000 RL is exhibiting some of the signs of a bad heater core, but not all... The windows fog up very quickly, they only clear with the defrost blowing on high, and it takes a long time. Doesn't seem to make much difference whether it's turned to recirc or vent. If we leave the heat on auto so it's coming out of the floor, they'll fog right back up again. The top radiator hose collapses, so the car is losing coolant somewhere. Thing that throws me for a loop is that there's no coolant smell or wet carpet in the car (obvious signs of a bad heater core). Anything else you guys can think of, before I just spring for a new heater core? Has anyone replaced their heater core? Just by looking at the car, I'm assuming this is a royal PITA job to do.
