I recall CL stands for contemporary luxury. I forget about RL.
ACURA doesn't mean anything, just something they came up with that sounds cool.

Honda was the family name of the founder, I believe. It's a Japanese last name. I've never known anyone with the last name Acura, however.

acura is short for accuracy

technically it was supposed to be "accura" but da guy was such a fob he spelt it wrong

that's what i heard.
