I pulled up to a red light last night and next to me was a modded SVT Contour. That car actually looks pretty sweet. So I look over and the kid revs it a little so I'm like....Ya Baby....Let's do this. Turned VSA off and slapped in to SS. Light turns green and we're neck and neck then I hit 2nd and pull about a half a car ahead.....then soon as I hit 3rd..........peace out! He was peepin out my debadged trunk!:bigok:

Are you kidding? The SVT contour has 200hp and damn near 1000 less lbs than a TL or CL. With the right driver, they can hang pretty well with a stock CL / TL.

the 2000 svt contour weighs in at 3126lbs... that's only 384lbs less than the cl-s w/auto and 320lbs less than the cl-s 6 speed.

at that weight, the contour would need an extra 31hp and an extra 37 ft-lbs of torque just to match the cl-s' power to weight ratios.

However, I raced one on the street with my stock CLS that hung on pretty well.

but you are right, the 1998 and 1999 svt contours were 3068 lbs.

the 1999 and 2000 svt contours got the 200hp motor, though.
