My RLX Sport Hybrid has less than 6k miles, but the oil is remarkably dark and smells strongly of gasoline. I've read of some issues with other Honda direct-injected gas engines where the fuel sticks to the cylinder wall and eventually dilutes the oil. Does anyone know if the 3.5l is affected by this?

Despite the oil minder telling me I still have 40% life left I intend on changing the oil first nice weather weekend we have (soon).

No issues I am aware of with 3.5!

I think Acura uses break-in oil additives and the rings/cylinders are are seating/sealing properly the first few hundred miles. I would see if you have the same issue after your first oil change at around +/- 9,000 miles. I switched to full syn oil after my first oil change on my 18 RLX hybrid. Noticed my oil was a little low before the change at 9,000 miles on my 18 RLX and 19 MDX; but, no oil lost since (forgot to check to see if the oil was low from the factory).
