What's better on a WDP? Sidemarkers that just blink only or on with parking lights and blink??

i don't like the whole idea of the sidemarkers on a japanese car, but if i were to get them, i'd say on with parking lights and blink wit them. And i'd put yellow bulbs instead of orange :)
hahaha, hmmm.....looks like people like it on with the parking lights huh? hahah. Hmmm..Don't ya think that's a bit ricey?! that's what people say at least. i dunno...i saw it on a integra once at night...it looked wack with it on. but it was a dark green car. so..... :dunno:

the ones i'm getting is very small and suttle. besides...it serves more of a functional use then looks. that's why i'm trying to find the smallest one.

err....... i don't know if i would agree on this one. more of a functional? our car is totally legit without the sidemarkers, so that means our car is fine without it. from what i could imagine, the only reason for drilling a hole on our cars, pulling in all the wirings, etc... for the sidemarkers is only for look, nothing more.

and a bit ricey? i thought when we started modding our cars people think we are ricers already anyway :D and i am with tommy here, on with parking lights and also blink.
btw, check your icq

errrr....it is not the law to have sidemarkers. but the german cars come with it standard, it was first to be for looks. then it actually served better function for trying to merge into a lane when there is car right next to you so they can see you blink. cause most can't see the front corner blinker or the rear. :D

Also...I forgot my password to ICQ....
tough to say which is better. I am leaning more to the normally off and blink with the blinkers arrangement cause this is more of a stock setup anyhow.

This is for sure though, if you leave the sidemarkers on with the parking lights, make sure that the light it emits is superwhite, not dingy white, yellow, or orange, only superwhite. IMO, any other color from a constant sidemarker lamp just screams of a school bus or SUV or something else that's similarly monstrous that requires these running lamps to be continously on for safety sake.

Bright blinking side turn signals are a good safety feature, that's why more cars are starting to have them installed. Visibility when changing lanes is a definite plus.

yeah....i was leaning on that as well. but Naqeeb is doing this..but leaving it on with parking lights...and he pointed out it looks better on lighter colored cars. and He had a pretty good point. it might look good. So I'm pretty stumped that's why. it' s not like it's irreversible. But..you know. Who knows....I might just do it. :dunno:
I would say no to sidemarkers, but that option isn't listed
yea...you thought painting your shifting plate was cool too :D   :D :D :dunno: :dunno:
Hey Ray, I have my sidemarkers on with the parking lights and blink. Personally, I think sidemarkers look great on our cars. And I think it looks good on a white TL too cause one of the board member, Pawel, has it on his white TL.
Ray, another idea I just thought of, forget those bulbs for the sidemarkers, as Josh mentioned, you want superwhite light. So, imma gonna get some wide angle white LEDs and throw those in there. Now just need to get all the shiznit.
Hello everyone. Sup blackshadow.... here is pic of my sidemarker

Hey Binh,

How did you wired your sidemarker? Do you have 2 bulbs inside or just 1 bulb with 2 filaments?

Sorry for throwing a money wrench into this, but I think it depends on where you live - superwhite sidemarkers may be illegal (has to be orange or yellow). I recall reading somewhere that this guy got a fine because of superwhite side markers. Not sure though, but I would think it's prudent to check with local traffic laws on the legality of using super whites. It would be a hassle to get them and forced to pull it out again. JMHO.

Paul, I have 1 bulb with 2 filaments. It comes on with the parking lights but it blinks opposite of it.

Hey that's cool, i was thinking about getting sidemarkers and if i get them i want the bulb to be superwhite so it could match all the other lights i changed to superwhite already.
hmm, looks like more people voted to have parking lights on! :D

I never knew they have double filament in those small bulbs??

Patrick, it is illegal to have superwhite sidemarkers. Even if you have been pulled over for a lighting violation like that, you do not have to remove the sidemarkers. just replace with a orange bulb.
