Actually it's more than that . My 97 Teg is Cammed,geared,ported,polished and bored . When I got the car the alt and wires where fried . Fixed all the wiring and replaced alt and that seen to fix the speedometer stall and drop in power ( it's clearly audible with the racing exhaust , even my wife noticed the tone change ) . Sometimes it's brief other times it's for long periods of time . Also seems to be caused by cold , only started doing in last week or so , again , since it has gotten cold here in Fla . I tried findings lose wire around distributor but nothing . Pulled cap ( new, as well as rotor ) and noticed a little spring . I stretched it just a touch and this has of so far solved problem but don't know yet if that's the actual problem . Has anyone experienced this ? Car is 97 RS non v tec but the distributor looks like a TEC not the Hitachi ( or something like that it's called , don't have repair book on hand ) .
