That cracked me up! That is exactly what would happen to me too. Hell, I practically impaled myself this weekend while washing my wife's Mountaineer (slipped off the back bumper, but caught myself be ramming my sternum into the rear wiper housing).Bebber said:I hope no one launches a spring into his face by accident while installing them.
Let me add one more thing. Back spring's pretty easy if you have spring compressor but front needs to be careful. It's slightly longer so some of spring compressor doesn't even fit.rominl said:yeah using the spring compressor COULD be very dangerous if you don't do it right. you are compressing the springs (remember, those springs hold up the whole 3500lb) so you can install it, and there are tons of energy stored in the spring compressor. if you don't do it right and it got relesed. you are looking for disaster.
Wimp!Bebber said:If I may interject.... spring install is more involving than the average joe like me would like to undertake. I hope no one launches a spring into his face by accident while installing them.
Go to a performance shop. It really shouldn't cost more than $100 to have springs and/or shocks installed. $80 is a good price.
