I have a 1989 Legend Coupe with 300,000 Kms. An independent mechanic I use to work on the car today told me there is coolant leaking from the head gasket and that it could blow any time from weeks to months.
He isn't looking for work on the car (he isn't set up to do it anyway, more a backyard mechanic) and thinks I should get rid of it, so he has no vested interest in it.
However, after doing some research here it seems blown head gasket problems are rare with the G1. The car is well maintained otherwise. Can one diagnose a leaking blown head gasket as he described, by noticing leaking coolant (presumably from around the gasket)?
