On my way home from work today I heard a rattle where my subwoofer is. After taking the headliner off in my trunk I found this:

Is this aftermarket?

When I follow the wire up it seems to be plugged into the Subwoofer. Or maybe the wires pass by it, not sure... But on the cable box it says "The Clear difference" hope that helps.

Also my TL does not have NAV.

That would be aftermarket.

It's made by a company called DEI and their slogan is "The Clear Difference".

I know this because it says The Clear Difference on my DEI shock sensor.

Ok, so it looks like I have a partial DEI Alarm system installed in my car... I have a aftermarket siren drilled into my strut bar (poorly done too!) I also have a LED light installed next to my side view mirror controls.

I hate having extra crap on my car, so should I just take it all out? or should I try to salvage what I have and get it repaired or whatever it needs?

Yeah take it out if it really bothers you.

Or sell the alarm to me?

Clifford security system

Turns out what I took a picture of is a Line Output Converter for a subwoofer. That's why it has the Aux cable input.

I do have a partial Clifford security system installed though. I had a buddy that installs alarms look at it and he said it has been disconnected from the ignition switch. I dont know how good it is or how expensive they usually are. He hadn't heard much about them. But I think I will be taking my car in eventually to have them install a Viper security system with remote start so I will have them remove everything from the Clifford alarm system and will sell it for whatever someone offers if they want it.

I will pull the clifford brain out and get the specs this weekend if I get some time.
