TL invasion in north cali

man it's a nightmare. tonight i went to san francisco to meet my friend for dinner. i left san jose at around 7 and was cruising on 101. on my way to san francisco, i saw a total of 4, i repeat FOUR, 2002 tl type s...... i couldn't believe it. 2 nbp / parchment, 1 wdp / ebony, and 1 ssm / ebony..... but nonetheless i was able to pull some fun out of it

3 of the four cars were totally stock and they drivers were all mid 30's guys so they probably didn't even know i was on a tls. the 4th guy, in his nbp / parchment, had kits and spoiler, but that's about it (no exhuast, no cai, and no springs). we spotted each other (he looked over) and the "race" was on.

it's not really a race, coz' there were traffic, so we were only doing around 65 in and out of traffic. i was following him most of the time coz' i didn't really wanna think too much. he obviously realized i was fooling with him, coz' he cut lanes and vtec couple of times and i followed. finally after 10+ miles i felt bored, so i cut to his left, vtec, and he couldn't catch up anymore (and probably he exited the freeway soon after that anyway).

it was really fun coz' i gotta see another tls in action, though his ass was pretty high coz' it's not lowered

but darn, i know it's not a short drive, but 4 tls along the way?!?! i haven't even counted any of those numerous 99-01 tl's..... man i thought this car wouldn't be this common

I see Tl and TLS EVERYWHERE....on my street alone there are 4 TLs and 2 CLs....When driving i spot a TL or TLs literally every 4 cars that pass, 1 is a TL...this car is soooo common in my area..

.however, mine was the only one with a kit in my area til i saw a black and abp with kits not too long ago....i've gotta add more mods to make mine stick out more....

hey rominl,

i was in the city too!....look in the mirror cause our cars look identical!!...HAHAHA

go check out palo alto and mountain view, i see at least 5 daily.....

other then myself, theres only 2 other modded TL-S's in my area.....

Well I dunno bout you guys....but Im almost 100% sure anyone will recognize me when they pass my ass up on the freeway.

Ever since the accident I'm a little nervous to just even pass 80 :wired:

haha, tell me about it. ever since my ticket i haven't gone any faster than 80 anymore @[email protected]

well here in san jose i have ONLY seen another tls with rims, a ssm one. other than that i am the only one with aftermarket parts on my car, so i still feel pretty good here

hahaha Paul. It's cause we're all up here in the San Gabriel area!! you got the fixed up ones that doesn't seem to be members of the boards....and you see you healty dose of old people...

last time i was in LA (monterey park), i saw more old guys with tls than young people

That still applies now. But lately, i've seen a few people that i never saw before.

well if you went to the Sema meet i think there were 4 really older people and the rest were around younger 20's

everyday on 880 I usually end up in a pack of TLS and CLS. couple times our cars lined up on all three lanes controling the traffic.

really? wow that's interesting. i wonder what's going on here in san jose. i mean, there are tons of companies around here. i know there is a stock tls (no mods) in the nearby parking lot, but i rarely see any 02 tls around here. i have to admit i see quite a lot of 99-01 ones though

in our parking lot we kind of share with other building. After few months I bought my car, now I see 2 TLP (gold, white) and 1 TLS (white) starting to feel the needs for MODs...

I am not sure about lowering the car. I might not used to it and hitting speed bumps and stuff. That is why I still havent get the body kit even the price you got is so great.

with HR OE you wont have to worry about scraping too much....

and it eliminates the SUV look too

i used to have comptech too, the ride was too harsh for my taste....
