To engine cover or not.

My engine cover is scratched and chipped all over the place since the bodyshop had to take it out to inspect everything. Should I even bother to repaint it or leave it like this? Dont even ask aboutt he battery cover...god!

BTW..I tried just spraying over the scratches and chips but it looks butt! For some reason the new paint acts like some sort of paint thinner on the old coat. I either have to paint the whole thing over with another coat...or start from scratch and remove the old paint and start again. If I have to go through the 2nd one...I'd rather leave it as it is.

umm.... question, why didn't they get a new engine and battery cover? i mean they are broken/damaged so you should be entitled for a new one? no?

anyway i would paint it all over again ratehr than leaving it like this, this doesn't look nice at all.

and please... a bettery cover....

They aren't damaged...just my custom paint job. Remember this?

I'm hesistant to use paint thinner cuz it may warp the plastic.

$5 can of paint + the whole day...vs $200 custom job. Me no baller like Crazy_Acura. Besides...the custom job would of been chipped too. Imagine if I had to pay to paint that twice? I'd have to choke someone.
Hmmmm.....Couldn't you have asked to have it painted while they painted the car? Since they had to paint the car..the engine covers wouldn't be much extra. :D

also, don't use paint thinner, just use 200-300 grit sandpaper and wet sand it, that'll take the paint right off. i do too much homemade painting....
2 cans of blue paint and a whole day and you are all set! :D
