I just bought a '01 CL 3.2 Type-S back in April and I need transmission fluid. I read the book to make sure I did it right and I noticed the manufacturer recommends their Permium ATF or something called Dexron.
Can someone please chime in and give me the exact kind I need to go with?
I'd prefer to pay a little more for the quality, especially since its the keeping the tranny in good working order.
Thanks guys & gals.

Hey, Timbo.

The type of Transmission Fluid is "ATF" (Automatic Transmission Fluid). The "Dexron" is just the "blend" of ATF they want you to use. General Motors (GM) created the Dexron specification, and there are several blends derived from the original formula (e.g. Dexron-II, Dexron IID, Dexron-III, etc.).

There are many brands that carry an ATF Transmission Fluid w/Dexron (Castrol, Valvoline, etc.), so take your pick. Please note: not every Dexron blend is compatible, so take a look at which one the manual specifies (e.g. Dexron VI, etc.)

I hope this helps!
