hey guys,

just got an 05 acura tl with only 50k on it. big step up, really enjoying the extra power and refinement. not loving the mpg, but i'll get use to it i suppose.

so it appears that the 2007-2008 have an updated user interface for the head unit over the 2005. it looks to be much cleaner.

I was curious if you can upgrade the software. where to do it, is it installed by dealer or 3rd party, is it a whole new unit, how much does it cost, etc.

All you have to do is buy the 07/08 navi unit (that is in the trunk) and buy a WHITE navigation DVD for it.

It's pretty much plug and play.

The navi unit is NOT cheap, though.

oh dang you weren't joking, im seeing prices $900 used, $1300 new!

a bit out side my budget, tinted windows, lip spoiler, type s rims are first.

The "headpiece" (screen and buttons) up front is the same and yes the price is not worth the upgrade.

Think of the "headpiece" as a computer monitor and the navi unit as a computer tower.

Nice but that is a waste of time, well bud you dont like your MPG you got multiple choices. All of Which Work.

Most Premium NGK plugs

Wrap the Intake Manifold with heat shield, CAI but we got that, so this is the next step

Oil based upon season

And Proper Tire Inflation

All you Need and Could Do. Very Cheap and Effective
