Las Vegas Hilton has rooms for $22 a night the weekend of April 26th. It is a blcok off the strip, but if it is a car meet, we'll have our cars so we can drive to the strip... or take a taxi if you plan to drink.

I've stayed at the Hilton numerous times. Why spend money on a place that you use to sleep and shower? Who cares? It serves its purpose.

$22 a night sounds great to me, particularly after paying about $600 for plane tickets!!!

Time to start making some serious plans, people!!!

That special at the Hilton doesn't appear to be available anymore.... I just checked it and the price is well over $100/night on the weekend of Apr 26th. Screw that. I'm not paying that to stay off the strip. We need to stay on the strip anyways... down near Tropicana/Las Vegas Blvd. The north end of the strip blows. Excalibur is probably going to be the cheapest but it's still $69/night Sunday-Thursday and $129/night on Fri/Sat.

Excaliber was where I stayed when I went to Vegas a couple of years ago. It is decent enough, especially since like you all stated, it is just a room and somewhere to get some sleep.

It still doesn't look like I will be making it But if that changes, I will be there

I've found that with Vegas.... most of the special offers are never available. I think they only make a very limited number of rooms available at that price just so they can advertise it. When I was looking earlier, I just went directly through the Hilton website to make a reservation. It gave me prices of over $100/night for Fri/Sat on the weekend of Apr 26th.

Just now, I found that special online and tried to make a reservation through the "Book a Package Online" link. It told me it was sold out for the dates I requested. Surprise surprise

I found a special online for Excalibur once and when I called a reservation agent it wasn't available period. There were "conventions" that were blocking out the price every damn weekend they said the special was good for.
