Depending on how you cut the mesh you may be able to use zip ties. They are cheap and you can secure the mesh just about anywhere. Plus they are gonna last a long time.

you could probably find mounting areas w/out drilling any holes.

but if you're looking for secure, use some sort of silicone. It'll seal nice and should hold in place the mesh just fine.

Silicone sounds good. It's waterproof and an excellent gap filling material. Some glues like super glue are terrible at filling in gaps.
BTW, since when was epoxy expensive? It's like $4. right? unless you're using some aircraft grade special order stuff.

Yeah, I've heard it's $4 a tube.
