And during the same trip, I did some high speed runs; the pic attached is the highest speed of all the runs. Nothing spectacular to many of you, but a few things of note:

1--note the outside temp reading
2--had been driving at 100+ degree temps nonstop for over an hour prior to making my run
3--made my run at approx. 2000 ft altitude
4--road wasn't entirely flat; rather, there were a few undulations; good for some mini hang time, though...
4--had passengers and luggage
5--probably could have squeezed a few more mph if I had a better look at the car way off in the distance coming at me (didn't want to take a chance that it was CHP)

Actually all you got to do is live in Arizona and then you will really understand what heat is. Everytime i get in my car my hole body sweats from the heat. Tomarrow is supposed to be 115.

TEMP ?: 99 was my highest...and the weatherman said it'll only go at the highest 80-85....it was the channel 2 man...

Speed part: whoa...140 mph? what gear were you in? I hit 137 (tl-p) in 4th gear with my rpm redlining...or almost...i see your rpm needle isn't near the red so i suppose your somewhre around 4 or 5? and I see your gas needle dropping down!!! :D

rominl--I was in Death Valley when I got that 113 temp reading.

mdaniel--like acuratlfan and rominl said, temp reading is valid when car is in motion; as you can tell from the pic, my car was in motion at the time...:)

tlridah--5th gear...like I was saying, I probably coulda squeezed some more mph under better conditions; therefore the fact that I got 140 in such adverse conditions/factors makes it a bit more impressive, IMHO.

Tony

P.S.: I guess I am unofficially the founding member of the 100-100 club--100+ mph while driving in 100+ degree F temperature.
