Where can I get a pair of JL 12W7's for cheap? Well, I know it still wont be cheap but there’s got to be somewhere I can get them for less than $600 each. I found a site that has them for $500 each but it looks real shady. Anyone know others?

Actually bro I can't get em...he asked me earlier about it. My guy (who I'm trying to get to come over here) can't sell JL's newer stuff for fear of a crackdown...except for component sets...

What kind of warranty do they offer? It's weird because Mike blows the hell out of their prices on everything else...by $100 on a lot of that stuff...I wonder. :dunno:

how much would 2 JL 10W7's be mike?
would 1 10"w7 JL with JL 500/1amp punch harder than 2 12" JL w3 d4s ? im using JL 500/1 amp...thanks...
mike:

you seem to know alot and sell alot of Jl stuff. i have an eclipse 36501 amp which is a 5/4. i have a jl12w0 as my sub it is 4 ohms. if i hook another jl12w0 to the same amp by just hooking both sub wires together then to the amp will that make the subs together a 2 ohm like the sony X amp does. of course the sony X amp has two speaker connections even though it is a mono sub and changes this thing internally from two 4 ohm speakers to one 2 ohm speaker output.
stinkboy:
What exactly do you mean by "5/4"? As for the setup you're saying...you are asking if you can hook those 4 ohm subs up in parallel and get 2 ohms. The answer is yes, you certainly can. I always prefer to have a dedicated channel (and thus MOSFET) per sub...because it will allow me to tweak it better, and no two subs perform the same. But, it is definitely something you can do, and don't worry I'm just anal about that. JL even shows the wiring diagrams on their site.

the eclipse amp i have is called a 5/4 channel which means it is a 4 channel for front and rear and then a dedicated sub channel with it own tweaks like gain and frequency. my alpine 9897 cd receiver also has a crap load of tweaks separate for the sub. it has three pre amp outputs one just for the sub and the amp has a dedicated input for that specific line. the box that was made fits between the wheel wells perfectly but they put the sub on one end and amp on the other. i want to remove the amp and put in another jl12w0 sub and move the damn amp. i was inquiring about the 2 ohm thing because if i put them inline and it stays at 4 ohms then the output of the amp will not power both subs. however it will at 2 ohms.
