The wheels are 19x8.5, two with 45 mm offset and two with 38 mm offset.. These wheels come with Nitto NT-555 Performance tires, 235/35zr19.Includes open end lugs.. The lug pattern fits any 5x114.3 OR 4x100.3

so..can i take that as ..." there is no way to prevent it from rubbing?"
it's possible i'm wrong and someone else has a way to get around it that i've never heard of.

i wish i were wrong, bro...but this time i can confidently say that you'd have a nightmare of a time with those fitments numbers.

this is all assuming that you are going to lower it.

now if you don't wanna lower it the case may be different: but 19's without a drop would look like a tank. :sqnteek:

well it's a matter of preferrence, but me personally, i went with 19 x 7.5 + 46 offset. i used 225/35/19's too.

i did NOT want to rub at all...so i went safely...and still had plenty of width to allow the car to have plenty of grip...believe me...i'm a spirited driver, and i had plenty of tread to play with.

if you decide to go with an 8" wide rim it's best to see if you can't get your offset around +50 or +52. i believe someone has HRE's that are 8.5" wide, however their offsets fit accordingly. so yes it can be done...but offset has to go along with that. good luck man...i hope i have helped and i hope i helped properly.

anyone else have input?? really the best thing to do is do a search.

wow...does he really? well then it may work. like i said...i'm not 100% positive. all i know is that i was once in your position and i had to make sure of a good fit as well, thus i did alot of research too.

i was told over and over that 35 is too low. are you sure Mr. Hyde has 8.5 width? my experience would tell me that that setup would rub horribly...but if it were of less width...like 7.5" width then i would find that much more understandable.

also...the way you described your drop (with the one finger deal) i would think you would be lower than Hyde...he really hasn't dropped his car that low...it looks very clean but i would think yours is currently lower.

i wish i could give you solid answers...i'm just giving you my limited experience and what i know from others. i'm hoping someone else will chime in and help you out.

You might want to PM hyde or something to check if he really has a 35 offset cause that sounds crazy low... I'm runnin a 18x8 w/ a + 45 and i'll be honest even w/ the tab trimed its rubbin like a mother especially around hard turns and sizeable bumps, so i gotta believe that ur setup will rub as well.

18"x7.5 with 225/40/18? better? or can i go wider than this with no rubbing? be 100% SURE!!! hehe...thanks
what's the offset on it...most likely it'll work.

but i thought you wanted 19's...there's plenty of 19's out there that will fit like a charm on our TL's with no rubbing...you just have to look a little harder for them than 18's. don't give up on your search...there's a TON of 19's out there for our cars.

it's a frustrating thing, i know. trust me, i know. i spent a good 4 or 5 months preparing, looking, and saving for wheels, then another 4 months to get them. i know it won't take you that long, but take your time and you'll be happier in the end.

Yeah, just like Ken said.

You can go either +49 or +50 offset on 19" and maybe +46~49 on 18" no rubbing.

It's pretty close. But why do you want to buy 19X8.5 if you going to put 235 on there??? 19X8 will do.

Plus, what's offset on those???

I think you have your facts backwards. Mr Hyde and I have the
Exact same rims. Trafficstar DTS 19x8 48 offset. 235/35-19 tires.
I think you're mixing up tire profile and offset. 235/35 means
treadwidth/% in sidewall height. (225/35 is scary low sidewall
and looks strange in my opinion.

A 19x8.5-45 offset would probably work if you were running 225/35
tires. But any wider and you'd either have to raise your coilover
height or seriously turn up the firmness.

yeah i'm pretty sure 225 on an 8.5 wide wheel is stretching it too far

45 offset seems too low on 19 X 8.5

Stay around +50.
